A new year often comes with new goals. Naturally, you would want to get your goals set and work towards achieving them, from the beginning of the year. We think it’s time to ditch the New Year’s resolutions and replace them with your goals… and what better way to do this, than by being confident enough to embrace both your strengths and weaknesses.
You may already have some goals set, however, setting one or two big goals for the year is a great place to start. You can target your goals monthly so that they can be accomplished throughout the year - this way, every month offers a fresh start. Here are a few tips on how to set and tackle your goals effectively:
Decide: Identify a goal you want to achieve. It really doesn’t matter what, as long as it’s something you’re interested in and passionate about. This should be a goal you set for yourself and not someone else.
Write it down: Writing down your goals increases your chances of sticking to them. Jot down dates and when you would like to achieve these goals.
Tell a close friend or relative: Telling someone we know about our goals also seems to increase the likelihood that we will stick to them.
Break your goal down: This is a very important step towards achieving your goals. Write down your smaller goals that are stepping stones to achieving the bigger goal, you can break it up into different months of the year. It can be anything from procrastinating less, having even tone skin, practicing more self care or using beauty products to help you feel more confident.
Plan your first step: Always have a starting point, as this will determine the steps you take going forward. Even if you don't know where to start, there's no excuse - your first step could be to research on the internet or think of people you could ask for assistance.
Start and keep going: It’s now time to put your plans in motion. Don’t be discouraged by minor setbacks. There is always time to regain momentum and achieve your goals!
Celebrate: When you finally reach your goal, take time to enjoy it, make the most of it and thank those that helped you.
There’s no need to wait until the end of the year to fix your crown and be the best version of yourself .
